The Patriarch sanctified the Cathedral Cross and the site chosen for the construction of the Saint - Trinity Cathedral, he personally laid the foundation stone for it. The visit of the Patriarch Filaret was initiated by the bishop of Uzhgorod and Zakarpattya Kyryl.
In Uzhgorod the Patriarch of Kyiv and All - Rus Ukraine Filaret awarded the orders to three Zakarpattya fellows. In particularly, we were pleased by the fact that among them was the owner of the hotel complex "Praha " Yuriy Berezhnik who was awarded the order of Saint George the Conqueror for his merits in spiritual revival of Ukraine and the Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Yu. Berezhnik received the guests with great honour in the hotel, he arranged the grand dinner for the highly respected guest Patriarch Filaret who had arrived to the Zakarpattya with the great mission for Local Ukrainian Orthodox church. Patriarch Filaret expressed his gratitude to Mr. Berezhnik and the staff of the hotel for their hospitality and blessed them. As a memory of his staying here he wrote some praising words in the Book for Honourable Guests.

The deputy head of the Uzhgorod mayor Volodymyr Khymynets who participated in the dinner expressed his hope that the current visit of the Patriarch will have favourable impact on the cooperation with the Uzhgorod community and Zakarpatyya as well.

It is worth mentioning that the visits of Patriarch to Zakarpattya are quite seldom while the Zakarpattya eparchy is actively developing. It is an exceptional honour for the our church to receive Partriarch Filaret.

Patriarch Filaret made the comment as to the recognition of the Ukrainian Orthodox church . He said : totally all of us are 14 mln. We have already acquired recognition.! People come to us ! This year the biker rally broke all records of the rock festival "Music Bike Ukraine 2010 "regularly arranged the last four years by the international biker club "Padonki" (Dregs) in the city of Uzhgorod. It concerns the amount of the participants! As Aleksandr Sukhanov said ( one of the organizer the large -scale biker rally ) about 898 bikers from Slovakia,Poland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Russia, Byelorussia, Moldova, Pridnestrovya participated in the rally. The biker - pioneers succeeded to drove one - way over 6 thousand kilometers! The oldest biker participant is 57 years old!

We are excited over the fact that the our hotel "Praha" was main venue for accommodation and entertainment for the bikers. All our rooms were booked for them! Much more fellows wanted to stay at the hotel but unfortunately the availability of the rooms is limited. All guests made merry all nights, Alexandr said The services rendered at our hotel makes it possible to keep celebrating till morning by such restless guests as the bikers.We gladly arranged for them evening parties and birthday celebrations.The sport club ran bowling games till 4.a.m. while the football fans watched the Football World Champion till morning. It is time to dispel the myth about the bikers as reckless guys: as long as they stayed at the hotel no scuffle neither any other misdoing were registered in the hotel compound. The bowling centre was the venue of the amateur competition. After two games played eight semi - finalists were nominated for proceeding competition to get to the finale. The four fellows competed for the prizes.

Simka, the second place winner, was awarded by the certificate for visit massage lounge at the Health Centre.E.
